The Verdict
Well, he came home. And after cowering, like I beat him everyday of his life, finally told me the truth. He said, "Let's play haircut, did it, and knew it was wrong." After a lot of tears, I did not yell at him by the way, totally caught me by surprise also, I doled out his punishment. 1 week grounded. No TV, DS, computer, or friends. If he is really good the rest of the week, I will let him off after 5 days. So, there it is. All pens, markers, crayons, pencils, scissors and tape too (for good measure), are on top of the fridge. Out of reach, at least for a little while, until they decide to break that barrier.
Boiling!
So, it started as just another day for us at the Scow household. Isabelle wanted to play with a friend, so we went into the bathroom to do her hair. I'm brushing, and we are chatting, and then I see them. A lot of little hairs on the top of her head sticking straight up. I look, and I think, those used to be long. They were not there yesterday, when I did your hair. So, I sternly, but not yelling, asked, "Did you cut your hair?!?" No. "Isabelle, did you cut your hair!?!?!?!?" Tears! "Tell me now, or it is going to be much worse for you in a minute!" "Wyatt did it." "What?!?!? Why?" "He said he wanted to cut my hair." Lots of tears. I am really proud of myself, because, I kept my cool. I didn't yell. I thought about it, and there were many angels round about me this morning to gird me up. It took a lot not to let loose on her. "Isabelle, if anyone ever says they want to or tries to cut your hair, you tell them no! Only if mom or dad say it is okay." So all morning I have been thinking of really great punishments for Wyatt. First, and most obvious, no DS or tv. For a week. But, before I go nuts on him, I have to get the rest of the story. Isabelle is generally not as innocent as she tries to come off. When I got home from "Messiah" performance last night, Jared told me she had colored all over our little table we have in Wyatt's room. Mind you she colored all over her closet shelf and multiple other things last week, and her wall. She also spread a whole tube of chapstick on her wall. And who knows what else she has colored on that I have yet to find. So,I have been putting all the pens, markers, crayons, and scissors in a bag on top of the fridge. They will now checkout items that are necessary for them, and use them with very close supervision. As if the evidence on Isabelle's head was not enough, here is the rest.
So, needless to say my blood has been boiling, most of the morning. I just hope that I can keep my cool with Wyatt. I was really glad he was at school, so I could calm down a little before we address this situation. So now when you see Isabelle and her hair is parted on the left, it is because of her new haircut. I'm just glad it is easy to cover up, and we didn't have to chop all of her hair of to fix it. I will post the update, after Wyatt gets home from school!

Tradition
It is our family tradition to make candy the weekend of Thanksgiving. We have always done it. As a child, it was sooooooo boring. Now since we moved into this house, we moved the tradition up here, because my kitchen is bigger. We spent 6 and a half hours, cooking the fondant, then beating it with wooden paddles, then kneading color and flavor into the fondant. Yes it is time consuming, but it is oh so sweet and wonderful! My kids got to help a little, but mostly they were our taste testers. We would give them a piece, and ask if it was a certain flavor. They were cute, and they loved every minute if it. We caught Nadja, trying to get into the excitement. After everyone disappeared for a minute from the kitchen, I went in and found her trying to get what was left on my counter. What a cutie pie!
One more note on Nadja. This is how everyone remembers Nadja:
With a pacifier, to quiet the screaming. Well, we went out a couple of weekends ago, and we thought the babysitter couldn't find her pacifier, so she just laid her down. That was incentive enough for us to get her broke of it. I haven't moved our crib to see if it accidentally fell behind there, but this is the Nadja we see now.
She still screams, believe you me! But now there is nothing in the way to quiet to sound of her scream. I know some of you think, I'm exaggerating when I talk about Nadja screaming all the time. But we have a dear friend, who gauges our church meetings, by how many times we get up and take our little screamer out of Sacrament. We love it when he shakes our hand, and says, "It was a pretty good day today. We didn't hear Nadja very much." We love our screamer!!!!!
Thanksgiving Catch up
Well, I just posted about my Christmas present, so now I am going to go backwards, and write about a lot of things I need to catch up on. Thanksgiving was a lot of fun. We had 23 people at my mom's house. If any of you have been to my mom's house, you would know that 23 people, is a lot to stuff in there. Good thing the kids are small, and don't take up too much room.
To save my mom's new carpet, we put the kids in the kitchen, where it would be easy to mop up any mess they left behind. We stuck the adults out in the front room. I did try to remind my mom that it is a Willes tradition to wear our food, as well as eat it, at every dinner, and that there were a lot of Willes' coming. It all turned out great and we got to see my nephews, who live in Montana, and my aunt and cousins from California.
One random picture. I was able to get a little decoration made just in time for Thanksgiving. Thank you to Wood Connection.
Christmas Presents
This year, I decided that I wanted new chairs that matched my kitchen table. When we got married, Jared refinished this really old table. It is gorgeous! I love it. Then we bought inexpensive chairs at Fred Meyer, so we could sit somewhere. We bought 4, because that was perfect for us. Well, now we have grown, and Nadja sits in a high chair, up at the counter, not at the table with the rest of us. I decided it was time to move her down with us. The only way to do that was to get new chairs! I am very excited. They came today, so when the kiddos got put to bed, we put them together. We ordered 6 of them, so there is plenty of room at our table now.
Now, if only our children will help us keep them looking like new! We are definately going to need to invest in a furniture marker.

Family Pictures
A while ago I had our amazing sister in law take some family pictures for us. We were in desperate need. All our pictures are of our kids when Nadja was a tiny baby. Here are a few pictures. Thank you Caitlyn! You have quite the talent!
There are too many to post, but I'm so glad for all the moments Caitlyn caught, happy and sad. Thank you!

First Snow
There is something about the first snow, that sends me down memory lane. I love to watch the snow fall, and sit in my warm house, wrapped up and cozy. It starts me thinking about family fun, holidays, get togethers with friends, game nights, and the feeling that comes with the holidays. I love to see everyone getting festive, decorating inside and outside of their homes. The delicious smell of cinnamon, and all other sorts of goodies being made. It's true for most, that the holiday season is the best because of all of the fabulous food, and the family time, at this special time of year, it is also the hardest because of food (I mean who can really resist?), and thinking of loved ones, passed on, and far away. I love the first snow, for all of these thoughts, and for the excitement it brings.
